Terms of service

Agreement and eligibility

By using Vote.to, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, stop using the service. You must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age required by your local law or sign-in provider. If you are a minor, use the service with a parent or guardian’s involvement where legally permitted and required. This does not waive those minimum ages.

Service and cost

Vote.to lets users post questions, set voting eligibility, choose a score from 0 to 100 or a Yes/No answer, view results, and optionally share explanations. Current features are free. Any future paid feature will require your explicit agreement to its price before you are charged.

Accounts and fair participation

Use only accounts you are authorized to control and keep them secure. Each Vote.to account has one saved vote per question; a change replaces that score while voting remains open. Sign-in and verification reduce abuse but cannot guarantee a unique person behind every account.

Do not impersonate others, manipulate results through multiple accounts, cast automated votes, bypass verification, or evade eligibility restrictions. Do not distribute malware, gain unauthorized access, interfere with the service, scrape private information, or misuse another person’s information.

Questions, eligibility, and results

Creators may select accepted account providers, allow or exclude accounts, and close voting. Exclusions take precedence. Questions and aggregate results are public, including when voting is restricted or closed.

Slider-poll results are average support scores, not the percentage of people selecting a binary “Yes.” In Yes/No polls, each saved vote is one choice and percentages are shares of those votes. The voting format is fixed when a poll is created. Participation is self-selected and affected by eligibility rules. These are informal opinions, not representative surveys, official elections, or professional advice. Do not claim they represent nonparticipants. Shared snapshots show results at the time of creation and do not update automatically. Creator summaries include current results and only explanations voters expressly submit for that purpose. Illustrative quotes are not a representative or thematic analysis of all voters.

Your content and rights

You are responsible for what you submit and must have the rights needed to share it. Do not post unlawful material, threats, targeted harassment, spam, content infringing another person’s rights, or private information without authorization.

You retain your rights in your content. You grant Vote.to a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, reproduce, and display it only as needed to operate the features you use, including questions, results, requested snapshots, and your chosen sharing or public listings. This permission includes using service providers for those purposes. It does not grant unrelated advertising or resale rights.

Optional sharing and external services

Review your text, image, and disclosure choices before sharing. Showing your personal score in an image and listing an X explanation beside that score are separate choices. A shared image may be viewed by anyone with its link. Choosing Share on X or Share on Facebook also activates an unlisted snapshot page with your selected image and optional reason. That page remains available to people with the link even if you cancel the external composer. The page points to the live poll; its saved image does not change when later votes arrive.

Direct X publishing is available only when enabled and requires posting authorization and an explicit publish action. Opening the X or Facebook composer does not publish a post. You review and finish posting on that service. Your snapshot link supplies a result-image preview, whose appearance and availability are controlled by the external service; it is not an uploaded image attachment. Facebook captions are entered on Facebook. Nearby explanation listings support X posts only. Removing a Vote.to listing does not delete its X post.

Google, X, Facebook, and other providers have their own terms. We do not control their availability, account decisions, or copies of content shared outside Vote.to.

Reports, restrictions, and appeals

We may remove content, close voting, restrict or suspend access, or take other reasonable steps to address rule violations, abuse, security risks, or legal requirements. We do not promise to review every contribution.

Report content or request review of a restriction by emailing how@vote.to. Include the relevant question or post link, your account details where relevant, and an explanation. Reports and appeals are handled manually; there is no in-app appeals process.

Availability, disclaimers, and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Vote.to is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. Features may change or be suspended. We cannot guarantee that all abuse, errors, or security incidents will be prevented.

To the extent permitted by law, Vote.to is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or opportunities, arising from use of the service. This does not exclude liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

Changes and general provisions

We may update these terms and will publish the revision date here, with additional notice when required. Continued use after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. These terms do not waive mandatory legal protections.

Closing your account

You may stop using Vote.to at any time and email us to request account closure or deletion. Signing out or revoking Google or X access does not itself delete your Vote.to records. The privacy policy explains retention and deletion limits, including backups and copies shared elsewhere.

The content license above lasts while your content remains part of the service and, after removal, only as needed for backup, security, or legal retention. Vote.to’s software, design, and branding remain subject to their respective intellectual property rights.
